A Good Woman Movie Story. Set in the 30s on the beautiful shores of the Italian Amalfi coast, the film "A Good Woman" follows Mrs. Erlynne (Hunt), by many seen as a 'woman of ill repute,' who leaves New York for the Italian southcoast, where she hopes to find a new 'patron' among the vacationing aristocrats. The gossip stirred up by Mrs. Erlynne's arrival isn't enough to dissuade the jovial, kind-hearted Lord Augustus (Tom Wilkinson) from falling in love with Mrs. Erlynne. But she has already set her sights on the married Robert Windermere (Umbers), an American who falls quickly under her spell. Windermere's faithful wife, Meg (Scarlett Johansson), is herself attracted by the flirtatious overtures of Lord Darlington (Campbell Moore), a well known playboy. But when she learns of her husband's affair, Meg takes drastic measures, with consequences for everybody involved.
