Fast Food Nation Movie Story - Synopsis. This Thriller-Drama was based on the novel by Eric Schlosser and released November 17th 2006 and directed by Richard Linklater. Marketing executive Don Henderson (Greg Kinnear), who works for Mickey's Fast Food Restaurant chain has a problem of Contaminated meat. he takes a trip to the the immigrant-staffed slaughterhouses of Middle America. what Don discovers is a "Fast Food Nation" of consumers who are being consumed by an industry with an endless appetite for fresh meat. Published in 2001 the book became a New York Times bestseller, with its non-fiction exploration of meat used for the of the hamburger industry. The movie however is fictional and not a documentary, but a character study.
